There's the internet where you can read about anything that interest you that might also interest someone. If you hear something funny or someone told you a good story, keep a note of it. If you've been to many places, it's always good to know where you've been and get them excited. Practice those opening lines in the mirror and talk about random topics.

The more varied topics and the more you can talk about the better. Because the more you know, the more you can talk about. The best thing you can do to start is make yourself open for small talk. There's always a chance to talk to someone when you're just waiting for something. You can even make the situation favorable to you when you want to talk to a girl. Parties are always the best place to get some conversation going. Be sure you're facing her like you want to talk to her properly.

Making your body language open and approachable should help you with this. Keep your attention focused on her using your eyes and you communicate to her what you want to say. You can be excited to talk to her but you can't be too over eager about it.

Don't lean in too close to her. It can seem like you're overwhelming her which is not cool at all. Know her already? Just say hi and hello as you mention her by name. Being direct works this way and avoid making things complicated for yourself. But for most of the girls you don't know, start with a confident introduction of yourself. When you get to know her name, repeat it when you talk to her to make her feel special.

Actually talk to her when you're talking to her. Give her the attention she deserves. Just remember to have some fun when you're talking with her. It's always good to keep it that way as the conversation goes on and the longer it takes. You can make her want to keep talking to you even if what you're talking about is trivial. Anything that's negative in nature will probably turn her off so don't go there if you can.

Don't let the rest of your days affect your conversation with her, she'll just feel bad about hearing it. When you can't think of anything to say, blurt out a compliment that's true. Even when it doesn't go anywhere it will make her feel appreciated before you talk about something else. Find something both of you want to talk about.

You can then say something personal about yourself or elaborate about it more. Of course, you don't want to be overly personal with her. Why would you? It's too soon. When you get to talk about yourself, it's only natural that she should talk about herself, too.

Questions are always a good way to know more about her when you need to. Again, don't ask anything that's considered too personal like health, religion, or political views. Just remember to keep it light and funny and good. Talk about what she likes to do or what she likes in general. Depending on how she responds, you can follow up with another question or even a joke or statement. If she's becoming uncomfortable, don't ask too many questions to keep her at ease. You don't want to make her feel like she's being interrogated for something she didn't do. Let her breath some air for a while and maintain a good balance with your questions.

Be sure you're listening intently so you wouldn't miss something important that could lead to somewhere good. When you can listen, you don't really have to talk to much about anything. You can make people keep on talking and talking if you can just listen to them. Letting others tell their own opinion will improve the quality of the discussion.

Before you part ways, you'll know more things about her than most people do about you. This could help both of you connect at a deeper level and make her feel good about the experience.

If you like talking to her, you can suggest another time to talk and have a plan in place to meet again next time. Just tell her you enjoy talking to her about a certain subject and ask her to hang out again. Leave her feeling good about herself before you go. Keep your eyes and ears open for another window to make small talk. This will help you work on you confidence and overcoming your shyness.
